If you’re traveling to Hawaii from the mainland US, it’s important to stay up to date on the most recent COVID regulations. If you’re looking for the COVID guidance from the Hawaii State Government, you can visit this link, or read on for more convenient formatting.
Steps to take before your flight
Get a COVID test. You’ll need to take a Nucleic Acid Amplification Test 72 hours before getting on your flight. In order to make sure your test is valid, please get it from a testing lab which is listed here. It’s important to note that if your flight has multiple stops, the test must be taken in the 72 hours before getting on the flight that will be landing in Hawaii.
Complete the Safe Travels Hawaii application form. Upload your vaccine record or COVID test result so that you’ll be able to avoid the 10 day quarantine upon arrival.
During the flight
You’ll need to wear a mask on the flight and at the airport, as stated in the CDC guidelines. Make sure you also follow carrier procedures with respect to distancing and sanitization.
After the flight
You’ll have your temperature taken upon arrival. If you have a temperature greater than 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit, you’ll be assessed further by airport personnel.
